ROB BURNETT is the five-time Emmy Award-winning executive producer of "The Late Show with David Letterman," a role he has served since 1996. He also serves as president and chief executive officer of Lettermanıs production company, Worldwide Pants Inc., where he oversees "The Late Show with David Letterman" and "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson." In addition, Burnett is co-president of B&B Productions, a production company in the Worldwide Pants family, which he formed with former LATE SHOW head writer and supervising producer Jon Beckerman.
Burnett first started with David Letterman in 1985 as a 22-year-old intern. In 1988 he joined the writing staff of "Late Night with David Letterman," and in 1992 became its head writer. He moved with the show (which became "The Late Show with David Letterman") to the CBS Television Network, where he continued as head writer through 1996. That year, he became the showıs executive producer and assumed the role of president and CEO of Worldwide Pants, Inc., where he developed the hit CBS series "Everybody Loves Raymond."
Joining forces with Jon Beckerman, Burnett also co-created the critically acclaimed series, "Ed," which aired on NBC from 2000-2004. The show earned Burnett and Beckerman an Emmy nomination for writing and won the Peopleıs Choice award.
Burnettıs newest project with Beckerman is a half-hour, single-camera comedy about a group of blue-collar guys who decide to rob Mick Jagger. The pilot was written by Burnett and Beckerman, and directed by Burnett. The show is a joint production between Touchstone Pictures, Worldwide Pants Inc., and B&B Productions, and will air on the ABC Television Network this fall.
Burnett was born July 8, 1962 in North Caldwell, NJ. He graduated in 1984 from Tufts University, where he majored in English and played varsity soccer. Burnett lives in Greenwich, CT with his wife, Eunice; their daughters, Sydney, 11 and Lucy, 9; and their son Charlie, 4.
